Used to get the same with Scholes after he chopped someone off at the knees again
'Not that sort of player' and then 'ho ho that Paul Scholes doesn't know how to tackle does he'?

I disagree with the opening post.
I don't think he is a particularly good player nor is he better than that.

gph,
Understood from the off mate......funny old thing, t'internet.
The only word that really leaves little doubt as to what the poster intends is cunt.

I was being sarky about the explanation, not agreeing with it!
If it's true that the player's reputation overrules the ref's own eyes, then it should be sorted out.
In the meantime, why the fuck are they protecting Kane's reputation/

I don't understand this; what the fuck has a clean reputation got to do with a red card offence?
Fegs had a clean reputation until that complete arse Dean red carded him against the Manc wankers, but that counted for nothing.
Are the pundits just making up excuses for the 'big' teams?

That was a poor decision, coming on the back of the Sanchez handball 'goal'.
Still, we know exactly what that feels like, and we weren't even playing a big team yesterday.
I felt like we had to plead to get the second Chelsea yellow last year in our 2-1 win, and still feel hard done by over the non-yellow for the Diego Cunta hack on Adrian earlier this season.

Kane's foul wasn't even shown on MotD.
Given that they explained Mata not getting a red card by saying he had a clean reputation, why are they protecting Kane's reputation?

Same old posters slagging him off.
Championship player? Do fuck off
Noble dives a lot? Do fuck off
More anti West Ham bullshit.
So fuck off 1307 and Grasshopper.

Gibbs should have had a Red for Arsenal yesterday. Last man and he body slammed Markovic into the ground.
Wasn't a spectacular foul as in a knee high lunge but Kane also came in and stamped on Clyne's ankle when the ball was about 3ft away. No excuse as it being a tackle it was just a deliberate attempt to injure a player.

Best way to get rid of diving is to introduce gravel pitches

To your point, MU have avoided at least 3 reds (Rojo, Zlat and then Mata last week) and continued to benefit.
Mata should not have been on the pitch yesterday but scored the first goal. Zlat should have been given a 3 game ban but scored when he should have been in the stands.
Meanwhile, we have to battle away and get red cards rescinded while watching cunts like Oliver, or Moss, or Dean, or Clattenburg continually penalise us and cause us to lose points. It's a fucking joke; no wonder video technology is slow coming into the game.
The 'big' teams get the better of the decisions, and that would instantly change with reviews.

There's silly cunt diving and then there's nuanced Michael Owen or Gary Lineker diving. Got to up his game.

It looked in real time like he was impeded but being totally honest I did not have a clear enough view.
If it was Zlatan or Kane it would have been given though no doubt :-(. They ref by reputation a lot of the time IMO.

Diving could be eradicated over night by issuing lengthy bans retrospectively. But that would be admitting the 'best league in the world ' is full of cheats and how would that look when the Premier League are trying to sell their product to the world for billions.
Professional players will continue to dive and cheat as long as the only punishment is a yellow card.
I referee at grassroots Sunday league level and have never come across diving but there of course are not 100 different angle replays to analyse or £'s at stake. Or maybe I'm just a shit ref that's easily fooled !

Re: Snodgrass diving

Seems to me refs don't know what to do half the time and if a player has form for diving (e.g. Snodgrass with the well publicised theatrics with Hull earlier this season) he will not get a decision.
Huth just got booked for a tackle that was just a block but his reputation and history decided the refs mind.
Of course, rich clubs get the benefit of doubt more than the others. That is a fact statistically although it would be interesting to see a compilation of videos showing it :-)
